Applicant Selection

At TQM Logistics Solutions we design company specific Applicant Selection Programs with one goal in mind:  to deliver an employee that meets the needs of the job and is the “best fit” for your company.

THE PROCESS

I.  Job and Company Assessment:  To find the right applicant for a job and a company you first need to really understand all the aspects of the job and know the company.

II.  Establish a “Best Fit” Hiring Criteria:  Set criteria that applicants must meet or exceed based on your companies wants and needs.  The “Best Fit” criteria may include specific verifiable data (MVR record, work history, skills assessment, etc.).

III.  Evaluate Compensation and Benefits:  Our belief is that there is a “Best Fit” Compensation Package for every job.  That “package” is dependent on supply and demand for that specific job classification, in a particular geographic area, during a finite time-frame.  Ultimately the compensation package your company is willing to offer to fill a job is your decision.  The information TQM provides can help to answer why it is so difficult for you to find job candidates that meet your “Best Fit’ Hiring Criteria, or alternatively why no one ever leaves your companies employment!

IV.  Develop Job Fulfillment Marketing Plan:  Running an ad in the Sunday want ad’s is not a marketing plan.”  Finding quality employees is becoming more and more competitive, especially in certain job classifications.  TQM will create a plan that is creative and will set your job opportunities and your company apart from your competitors.

Apply Innovative Approach:  One technique that TQM employs in the Applicant Selection Process is to create a recruiting workplace documentary so that applicants can “see the job” before they start the job.

V.  “Best Fit Analysis”:  Your job opportunity and your company present specific characteristics that must be taken into consideration when evaluating job applicants.

It is easy to look at an applicant with excellent references and background verifications and justify why you believe that person would be an excellent hire.  However, when we dig deeper (peel back the onion) and evaluate their specific work experience, what are their expectations of a job opportunity, what will make them content in a career; a different perception may emerge.  TQM’s “Best Fit Analysis” identifies the specific aspects of the applicants work history, specialized training, work assessment, and personality that make that candidate the “Best Fit” for your company.
